  1. Hello,

    A bit of polish history.

Yesterday in Poland we were celebrating the anniversary of declaration of the 1st polish Constitution, approved by Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth parliament, on 3rd of May in 1791 year.

It was meant to reform the Country by introducing progressive changes to the political, civil and social organization.

It introduced more democratic constitutional monarchy rules, it limited some privileges of nobles and introduced some progressive changes for peasants and burghers.

Unfortunately, soon after the Country suffered from second and finally third Partition of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth among Prussia, Austrian and Russian Empires.

Historian Norman Davies calls it "the first constitution of its type in Europe". And it's the world's second oldest constitution of this type after America's constitution declared in 1787 year.
