New project: Exploring homeland, explore the world.
Welcome to our new project.
Brief description:
In this project, students introduce homeland in interesting ways for teenagers, peers, foreigners (places, cities, history, culture etc). looking for links with other countries - a kind of a guidebook in different ways - films, PP presentations, maps etc. The idea is to promote active tourism, recommending outdoor activities to do in our homeland, telling a little bit of history, talking about our nature landmarks, traditional food, traditional sports and dances, etc.
Students from different ages exchange questions about each other countries.
The last activity is a hypothetical journey to visit the country.
Key competences that we will develop through this project:
Social and civic competence. respect for the other, interest in learning from other cultures.
Communicative competence in English as a foreign language: reading, writing leaflets, power presentations, speaking and listening.
Computer technology competence: use of different TIC tools to prepare the final products and to interact.
EXPECTED RESULTS:
Through this project, we try to widen our student’s knowledge of European countries, their history, culture, traditions, landmarks, and at the same time, improve their level of English as a foreign language.
As a final product, our students will create videos, using interesting tools (such as Chroma) to present their group work. In addition, they will create a tourist poster, with a plan for holidays in our countries.
In November: we organise the class in different groups, depending on these topics (each teacher decides on the number of students per group, depending on the size of the classes, their interests and abilities:
- Nature landmarks in our homeland.
- A little bit of history.
- Typical dishes.
- Outdoor activities
- Folk dances
- Traditional sports.
